Stag Night Ideas That Won't Piss Off The Bride

It’s your last night as a single man and you’ve rounded up all your best bros for an epic bachelor party. While many descend into alcohol-fueled debauchery, these gimmicks ain't worth the tension that could ensue if the bride finds out. Here’s how you can celebrate your stag night in style without pissing off your future missus.

1. Unleash your inner Ronaldo with an epic rooftop futsal tournament

We’ve all dreamt of becoming a football superstar at some point in our lives. So, it’s never too late to recreate that fantasy on the night before your big day. Take it to the next level (literally) by organizing the ultimate football tournament on Singapore’s first ever rooftop pitched perched atop Tanjong Pagar’s Amara Hotel. Round up your groomsmen and strut your skills against a backdrop of cinematic floodlights and Singapore’s gorgeous skyline.

2. Party in your own private yacht at sea

Short of being a billionaire tycoon, chances are you’ve never actually stepped foot onto a yacht before. It’s high time you live it up with your broskis by renting your very own private yacht charter for the day. You can relax and unwind on the open deck, which can accommodate up to 18 guests at once for a cookout. If the boys are feeling a tad adventurous, there are kayaks on board for you to head out and explore the lagoon at Lazarus Island or go for a relaxing swim with the snorkeling gear provided.

3. Indulge in an all-you-can-eat buffet

What’s the best way to calm your groom’s nerves before his big day? Food, tons of it of course! Pig out with the best all-you-can-eat-buffet money can buy. Just make sure you can fit into that tuxedo afterwards. For international buffets, there’s the Edge at Pan Pacific Singapore. Check out Shin Minori Restaurant for Japanese fare or if you’re looking for something that’s Halal, there’s the Carousel Buffet Restaurant in Royal Plaza on Scotts. Those with a sweet tooth should also definitely check out The Cheese & Chocolate Bar at Marina Bay Sands for some decadent goodness.

4. Paintball

Admit it, the best part about your NS experience is most probably Urban Ops. Nothing feels cooler than storming down a building and taking out enemies like a highly trained SWAT team. The best way to relieve those days is to organize a game of urban paintball. Divide your groomsmen up and play the capture the flag. And while it is optional to let the groom’s team win, it is definitely paramount that he doesn’t get hit in the face. You want to have some fun but not to the point when there are welts and bruises disfiguring your face on your wedding day.

5. LAN Session

If you grew up in the 2000s, then LAN gaming was your rite of passage as a teenager. And we can safely assume that your groomsmen are the very same pimply boys that sat side by side with you battling enemies in Dota for hours after school. How about you relieve those nostalgic moments by having one last epic multiplayer Counter Strike session before your big day? Post-marriage, such outings would probably be a rare occurrence if it happens at all! (unless your lady is a gamer herself, then congratulations you have hit the jackpot). For something affordable, check out Khakabo, where you can play to your heart's delight for only $2 an hour.

6. Watch an MMA event

The amount of time it takes you and your groomsmen to turn from gentlemen into bloodthirsty savages is probably the duration of a fight contest. What better way to have a testosterone-filled night out than to catch other men beating each other to a bloody pulp for your entertainment. There’s a bunch of martial arts events littered across the city be it in boxing matches, Muay Thai competitions or Judo meets. But for the ultimate thrill, you should plan to catch a ONE FC event together, Asia’s number 1 MMA promotion that holds fight cards regularly in Singapore. And don’t get us started on the gorgeous ring card ladies on hand. Oh, behave!
