School Holiday Fun: Indian Heritage Comes Alive With "Escape Room", Art & Craft
Learning doesn't have to be confined to the classroom. As a kid, my favourite post-exam activity was when my school organised field trips to cultural spots so that we could learn more about the communities they are based on.
From 13 to 21 March 2021, the Indian Heritage Centre has a whole range of fun drop-in craft activities, guided tours and experiential programmes. They not only appeal to nostalgic adults like me but young families as well. Check out the list of highlights below:
JEWEL HUNT
How about a thrilling escape-room style experiential game that is educational at the same time? You'll get to discover the rich history and heritage of the Indian community in Singapore through this jewel hunt.
Date & Time: 13, 14, 16 – 21 March 2021, 30 mins slots from 1-3pm
Cost: $20 per group
CHILDREN’S SPECIAL GUIDED TOUR
This specially curated guided tour is perfect for the kiddos. Led by experienced docents, you'll learn more about Indian heritage and culture through an engaging tour of the permanent galleries. You'll also get to see traditional Indian trades come alive at the experiential pop-up booths with live demonstrations by professional Indian goldsmiths and garland makers.

WOODBLOCK PRINTING WORKSHOP
If you are an arts and crafts lover, this activity will appeal to you. Learn the traditional art of Indian Block Printing and discover various techniques you need to know to print your own fabric and paper.

DISCOVER IHC WITH CHAI
If you're looking for something more chill, visit the permanent galleries at Indian Heritage Centre and be treated to a nice cup of Chai to complete your cultural journey.
