SG60 isn’t just about vouchers — take it from me. I’m not eligible, but I’ve found other meaningful ways to celebrate Singapore’s 60th. Here’s how you can too. IMAGE: PARKROYAL COLLECTION Marina Bay

Not Eligible For SG60 Vouchers? Here Are Other Ways to Celebrate the Nation’s Big 6-0

Say the word "SG60", and chances are, "vouchers" is one of the first words that comes to mind. And fair enough - it's one of the most talked-about aspects of the celebrations. From July 22nd, all Singaporean citizens aged 21 and above in 2025 will receive $600 in one-off SG60 vouchers, with seniors 60 years and above able to claim up a total of $800 in SG60 vouchers, to celebrate Singapore's diamond jubilee. It's a generous bonus that many will appreciate, but let's be real, celebrating our nation's birthday goes far beyond just vouchers.

If, like me, you call Singapore home but you aren't eligible for SG60 vouchers (in my case, it's because I'm a Permanent Resident), don't worry. Even without SG60 vouchers, there are still many ways to celebrate this amazing country's milestone 60th birthday - and I'm not just talking about the NDP Parade, Marina Bay fireworks and the many activities and heartland festivities. Many neighbourhoods will have free events, performances, or mobile column displays. Check your local CC noticeboard or OnePA site for event updates!

Here's what I'm looking forward to celebrating this SG60:

Food, food, food

If you're a foodie, this is for you! There are so many great value SG60 deals happening around town in honour of Singapore's 60th birthday, you're going to be so spoilt for choice!

For example, from now until 10 August, El Chido at Pullman Singapore Hill Street brings its Viva SG Rooftop set - a special bundle set of local-themed Mexican specialties ($60 nett). Think Chicken Rice Chimichanga with Smoked Chicken, and the tangy Breaded Fish Otah Tortilla with Green Papaya Salad, inclusive of two cocktails. All of which you can enjoy while basking in the Singapore skyline (go on a Saturday night for a fireworks-filled fiesta!).

If you're a durian lover, don't miss the Durian Fiesta at Goodwood Park Hotel on National Day weekend (8-10 August only) for 16 signature Durian Puffs at The Deli for $60 nett (U.P. $98 nett). Pre-orders begin via Goodwood Park's online ordering site

And for a Singapore-inspired Afternoon Tea (from 18 July until 10 August), head to Portman's Bar at PARKROYAL COLLECTION Marina Bay enjoy nostalgic flavours reimagined into new creations such as Kopi Scones with Clotted Cream, bite sized Old School Western Chicken Chop in a polo bun, Rojak-style You Tiao topped with turnip, pineapple and starfruit from the hotel's Urban Farm. Sweets on the afternoon tea include a Bandung Rose Bavarois, a rich Durian Cheesecake Gâteaux with Pulut Hitam, and Pandan Coconut Financier, as well as Liu Sha Bao and Chendol (starts at $68 per person, including two servings of coffee or tea).

Need something to do on National Day itself? Celebrate Singapore’s 60th in style on 9 August 2025 at PARKROYAL COLLECTION Marina Bay’s Skyline Bar. For one night only, enjoy an all-you-can-eat feast of local and barbecued favourites, with stunning rooftop views of the Red Lions, state flag flypast, and fireworks stretching from the Padang to Marina Bay. Tickets are S$138++ per adult and S$69++ per child (6–12 years) — a fun, festive night to remember with family and friends.

SG60 deals at Sentosa

There is so much happening at Sentosa from now until August - all for just $60.

$60 for Cable Car Sky Pass (Round Trip) + 3-Course Meal at Arbora (U.P. $114.73); $60 UltraGolf Package for 4 pax (U.P. S$108); $60 HydroDash Package for 2 pax (U.P. S$94), inclusive of $30 nett The Palawan Food Trucks credits; and $60 for 2 standard admission tickets for a 60-minute Albatross Speedboat Adventure around Singapore's iconic skyline and Southern Islands (U.P. $90), are just some of the SG60 promotions us PRs can take advantage of at Sentosa.

Mandai Wildlife Reserve

I'm a huge fan of the Mandai Wildlife Group and only too happy to return to any of the parks whenever possible! Take advantage of the amazing deals that the Mandai Wildlife Reserve is offering in honour of SG60, such as the Wildpass Special, which grants local residents admission to any of the group's parks from just $24. Can't decide which one to visit? The 5-Park Annual Access Membership is 16% off until 31 August!

Arts & culture deals

While PRs like myself aren't eligible for the SG Culture Pass to experience local arts and heritage performances, exhibitions, and workshops, there's still a lot to experience. For instance, if you're a local or resident of Singapore, book tickets at the SG60 special rate of only $15 for the Big Bus Hop on the Heritage Tour (Red Line) and journey from Little India to Chinatown, exploring the distinctive cultures and styles of some of Singapore's traditional ethnic neighbourhoods (promotion price available till October 2025).

SG60 is also the perfect time to support local music, film and art creativity, with the many galleries and SG60-themed visual arts events happening around the country. Check out the beautiful (and free!) Traces Of Time: 60 Years Of Nationhood exhibition at Pan Pacific Singapore, for works of art by local artists such as Lim Tze Peng's iconic street scenes to Wan Soon Kam's misty landscapes, for a glimpse into Singapore's past and development over six decades (available till August 31 only). Also don't miss the (also free!) SG60: To Build A Swing exhibition that showcases three artists who think about the past and future of Singapore through sculptures and visionary architecture (available from August 15 - September 30)

UOB Plaza: World's Longest Projection Canvas

There's the annual spectacular fireworks to light up the sky. And especially for this year - in celebration of UOB's 90th anniversary and Singapore's 60th year of independence, don't miss seeing Singapore's skyline lit up boldly every evening with a, first-of-its-kind building projection show at UOB Plaza 1 (running till 9 August 2025). The Unity Projection Show has already earned three coveted titles, or 3 Guinness World Records for being the tallest (280m tall facade), brightest and longest projection mapping in the world.

If you haven't seen it already, the canvas features a six-minute animation shows created by local talents that celebrate Singapore's journey, UOB's legacy, and the spirit of this country's innovation and resilience. The projection will also spotlight works by talented Singapore artists – winners of Southeast Asia's longest running art competition, UOB Painting of the Year.
