How To Use Your SG Culture Pass Credits If You're Not Into "Culture"

As someone who's very much not an "arts and culture" person, my reaction to receiving $100 in SG Culture Pass credits earlier this month was not so much "Hey, free money!", but rather "Oh no... How am I going to use these up?".

After a failed attempt to sell my credits to my arts-loving mother at half-price (it was worth a try), I decided I might as well have a look at the SG Culture Pass website and see what sort of events are eligible for credit redemption.

To my surprise, I found that amongst the calligraphy workshops and tea appreciation sessions that made my brain go "NEXT!", there were still several events that seemed light and fun enough to appeal to even someone as uncultured as me.

If you're in the same boat and struggling to spend your SG Culture Pass credits, here are some events that caught my eye.

Warning: To avoid disappointment, it's best to book tickets for events that interest you in advance, as slots often sell out fast. For instance, I was looking at a rather interesting kintsugi workshop, only to find that all its remaining session slots were sold out, all the way through December 2025.

Currently, you can purchase tickets for events happening as late as June 2026, so be sure to check the SG Culture Pass website regularly as more events are added. The SG Culture Pass credits are valid for eligible events until 31 December 2028.

Balloon Splatter Art Workshop

Ever watched Princess Diaries? Specficially, the scene near the start of the film where Mia's mother was painting by throwing darts at paint-filled balloons. Well, now you can try your hand at it with this colourful workshop by Art Pop Studio.

You'll get to create beautiful art and relieve stress at the same time by popping paint-filled balloons in the studio's dedicated splash zone – no skills required (aside from the ability to aim and throw darts).

Tip: Wear clothes that you don't mind getting messy; while safety gear like goggles and protective smocks are provided, accidents can still happen.

Till 28 December 2025
Tickets from $85

Art Jamming with Cats

You've probably tried art jamming at least once. But have you ever attended an art jamming session with cats?

In this unique workshop, Wildflower Studio combines art jamming with a "cat cafe" concept. As you unleash your creative juices, the studio's friendly rescue cats roam around freely, observing your artistic endeavours and demanding skritches, cuddles and attention. Who knows? You might even find inspiration from their antics.

Do note that the workshop is a 2.5-hour semi-guided art jam session that also includes cat circle time, which allows you to feed the cats treats while the facilitators share stories about them.

Till 2 November 2025
Tickets from $48

Make Your Own LED Neon Sign

Blending nostalgia and hands-on creativity, this groovy experience lets you create and assemble a fully functional LED neon sign in the design of your choice.

You'll start by laying LED light strips onto the grooves of your chosen design's acrylic sign. After that, you'll solder the connecting points between each of the LED strips. Once you've overlaid the rubber tubes by cutting and bending them, your sign will be all lit up and ready for display.

You can choose from a variety of designs in different sizes, from an "I Love SG" design to a Kopi & Toast design, a ketupat, a lantern, and even Singlish phrases like "Ok lah" and "Shiok". Do note that you'll need to select your design when purchasing your ticket, though LED colours can be chosen on the day itself.

Till 20 December 2025
Tickets from $100

Haw Ror Villa 4! – The Final Journey

Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios isn't the only way to celebrate spooky season. As you step through the looming gates of Haw Par Villa, you'll be transported into a battleground between the sacred and the sacrilegious as the park has been overrun by an ancient cult. The mystery and horrors of the cult unfold through connected narratives across 3 spine-chilling scare zones: A haunted house, an interactive guided ghost tour, and a fiendish puzzle hunt.

Note that while Haw Ror Villa is open to all ages, parental guidance is advised for children under 9 years old.

Paint-A-Bear Workshop

You're probably familiar with BE@BRICKs, the art toys shaped like bears that come in all sorts of quirky designs and cost an arm and a leg, making them too pricy to be owned unless you're a serious collector.

If you've ever wanted one of these bears, you're in luck: artist-led studio Room To Imagine is hosting affordable "Paint-A-Bear" workshops, where you'll get to unleash your creative juices on a 23cm blank bear and customise it however you'd like.

Aside from a quick briefing at the start, the workshop is an unguided session. All materials are provided, including the bear, acrylic paints, and a hot air gun to dry the painted bear. Each session allows use of the facilities for 1.5 hours, inclusive of drying time.
