At this Japanese steak specialist, the Mother’s Day meal is a true feast that begins with three appetisers – chawanmushi, assorted sashimi and miso soup. What follows is a main course comprising four items: Miyazaki wagyu steak served with fresh wasabi and fried shallots; a premium salad of asparagus, carrots, broccoli, shimeiji and shitake mushrooms, and Chinese cabbage; tempura moriwase; and the restaurant’s signature Fat Rice featuring high-quality Japanese rice cooked in wagyu fat before it is mixed with dried kelp and truffle oil. This indulgent experience culminates with a burnt Basque cheesecake and seasonal sorbet. It’s rather a steal at $99 per person, if you ask us.

To celebrate both Mother’s and Father’s Day, this stalwart restaurant has teamed up with actor-turned-chef Li Nan Xing to offer a limited-edition rendition of its signature white bee hoon. Available till 26 July, the dried scallop hae bee hiam XO bee hoon is available along with a range of teas made by actress Vivian Lai’s tea brand, Teabrary. Beyond the limited-edition white bee hoon are new sides like homemade tofu with dried scallops, hae bee hiam and minced pork, and stir-fried prawns with dried scallop hae bee hiam. It’ll be a homespun, umami-laden meal for sure!
For: The mum with a voracious appetite
This well-loved buffet commemorates Mother’s Day throughout the weekend of 7 May, with a spread that’ll please mums with even the fussiest palates. There’s everything from freshly shucked Canadian oysters, superior double-boiled soup with Chinese yam, vegan chicken salads, and desserts galore.
