Majulah, Together: 41 Artists Share Their Hopes For Singapore Through The NDP Packs

National Day Parade (NDP) szn is back, and so are the iconic NDP packs. Part souvenir, part survival kit, and part collectible, this year’s designs are *chef’s kiss*.

For the sixth year in a row, the NDP Executive Committee has teamed up with SG Enable. And for the first time ever, ARTDIS (Arts & Disability) Singapore has joined the partnership. Together, artists from the two organisations have co-created artwork for this year’s NDP Packs, shining a light on the diverse talents of artists with disabilities from different generations.

Part of SG Enable’s i’mable initiative, this collaboration champions inclusion and celebrates the abilities of persons with disabilities – a powerful reflection of this year’s National Day theme: “Majulah Singapura”.

More than just our National Anthem, “Majulah Singapura” is a timeless call for progress – a reminder that our strength lies not only in how far we’ve come, but in the shared values and trust that unite us.

A total of 41 artists took part – 20 students from SPED schools (aged 10–18) engaged by SG Enable, and 21 artists from ARTDIS (aged 20–73). The SPED students envisioned a future shaped by care and community, while the ARTDIS artists drew on Singapore’s past, anchoring their designs in boldness, resilience, and multiculturalism.

Together, their artworks don’t just decorate this year’s NDP Packs – they carry the spirit of “Majulah”: hope, courage, and unity for the journey ahead.

Tay Bee Lian, artist representing the ‘Openness’ artwork, ARTDIS

Mdm Tay contributed a greeting in Mandarin, "您好吗?" ("Hello, how are you?") using Chinese calligraphy for the 'Openness' tote bag. She hopes people of all races use the greeting as a friendly way to start a conversation. The bag celebrates the warmth of a simple phrase shared across cultures. Featuring “How are you?” in Singapore’s four official languages and sign language, the artwork reflects how everyday care begins with just a few words—spoken with openness and heart.

Her favourite part of NDP are our uniformed armed forces marching out in neat rows, and the military commands being bellowed.

Nur Fazira Binte Mohd Nuruddin, artist representing the ‘Contribute’ artwork, APSN Chaoyang School, SG Enable

Fazira drew a total of 11 icons for the 'Contribute' tote bag and her choice pick is the Merlion, because of how many people flock down to take photos of it. She feels happy to see her designs displayed on the tote bag, which represents  the spirit of teamwork and shared responsibility. Through collaboration and strong community bonds, the artwork reminds us that by working together, we build a brighter future for all.

Her favourite part of NDP is the singing, and her preferred NDP song is Dick Lee's 'Home', sung by Kit Chan.
