1. Arts in Your Neighbourhood
Want to explore neighbourhoods you don’t visit often while soaking up some culture? Well, Arts in Your Neighbourhood (AYN) is back with over 40 family-friendly activities happening in 13 locations islandwide. In particular, this edition of AYN shines a spotlight on Punggol, making this the perfect excuse to take a trip to North-East Singapore. Highlights include an interactive Five Stones art installation and Sensing Punggol, a collaborative art exhibition which brings the neighbourhood to life through a clever blend of art and technology.

2. Twilight: Flea & Feast
This picnic-style weekend market is a great way to get some early Christmas shopping done while enjoying a day out with the family. Featuring over 150 brands of various products like cute bags and other accessories, along with 60 F&B street food vendors with yummy nosh, this market will have you shopping up a storm. There’s plenty for kids to enjoy too, such as balloon sculpting, face-painting and screenings of movies like Zootopia and Madagascar.

3. Bazaar by the Pier
Held in commemoration of the Singapore Bicentennial, Bazaar by the Pier celebrates how far Singapore has come from its early days as a trading post. Aside from delicious food stalls and thrilling fringe activities like crafting model lighthouses and other workshops, this bazaar boasts a spectacular photography exhibition titled ‘My Defining Maritime Moment’.

4. Poinsettia Wishes
It’s only November, but Gardens by the Bay is already decked out for Christmas. This year, the Poinsettia Wishes floral display takes you on a journey through the Nordic countries by adding a yuletide twist to iconic landmarks from Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Norway and Iceland.

5. Wan Qing CultureFest
If you haven’t checked out this festival yet, there’s still time this weekend. Celebrating the diversity of Chinese traditions, Wan Qing CultureFest showcases four key pillars of Chinese cultural heritage – social practices, rituals and festivals; food heritage; performing arts; and oral traditions and expressions – through a myriad of colourful exhibits and performances. Get some hands-on experience with Chinese calligraphy, make your own Chinese Opera Mask and enjoy traditional Hakka folk music as you learn more about how these traditions have evolved and endured through the years.
