The Force Is Strong With This Year’s Sentosa Sandsation

Ah, the school holidays. A time when kids go “yay!” and their parents (yes, you) go “wah lau eh, how to keep them entertained?”

Well, there’s something awesome happening on Sentosa that will have you jumping to light speed to get you – and your kids – there: the annual Sentosa Sandsation sand festival is back, and this time it’s a Star Wars edition.

Fear Free is the path to the dark side

Yes indeed, you enjoy free entry into Sentosa for a limited period! In celebration of the school holidays, Singapore residents enjoy free admission into Sentosa from now till 15 Sep 2019 between 10am and 8.30pm daily by hopping on the Sentosa Express or driving through the Sentosa Gateway gantry via Singapore-registered cars.

I’ve got a really good feeling... about this promo

Thinking of taking a Grab ride into Sentosa? Enjoy $5 off your ride during this period by using the promo code “SANDSATION”. This promo code is valid for a one-time redemption per user and is available from 10am to 10pm (except between 12pm to 2pm).

Check out these highlights, you must

And now, on to the main event: the 21 Star Wars-themed sand sculptures. These range from carvings of iconic characters such as Yoda (who greets you sagely at the entrance with his Slightly Smiling Face Emoji expression), Han Solo, Chewbacca, and Darth Vader to detailed dioramas of the First Order Invasion (which measures a massive 9.1m long, 7.3m wide and 4.9m) and the Theed Royal Palace (rendered meticulously by Singapore’s only professional sand sculptor Tan Joo Heng).

You can also up your parent game by participating in free sand sculpting workshops held daily at 11am, 2pm and 5pm (on a first come first served basis). What better way to bond with your kid(s) than by learning to create something together?

Finally, spoil/reward your little ones (and yourself) with Star Wars-themed merchandise and free movie screenings on Palawan Green on 14 and 15 Sep 2019 at 7.45pm.

So much fun in one place. The best part: it's all happening in a galaxy not so far, far away.
