The Coolest Spots In Singapore To Celebrate World Martini Day

15 June marks the fact that we’ve made it halfway through another year, which, if you ask us, calls for a stiff drink.

Incidentally, 15 June is also World Martini Day, dedicated to enjoying one of the most iconic cocktails ever created. Traditionally, the martini is made with gin and vermouth and garnished with an olive or a lemon twist. Over the years, it has enjoyed numerous creative iterations, including the now-popular espresso martinis of the 1980s and lychee martinis, which were all the rage in the 1990s.

Of course, there’s plenty more to enjoy today, so let’s raise a glass to some of the best martinis to try in Singapore.

ATLAS Martini at ATLAS

What’s in it: ATLAS gin, Ambrato vermouth, orange bitters, champagne vinegar

Price: $27

ATLAS’ signature martini combines its house-made gin with Ambrato vermouth, orange bitters, and champagne vinegar. The result is a strong, cold, and headily floral drink. Martini fans can also enjoy this martini as part of the ATLAS Suite, which features two other modern adaptations of the drink in petite form ($42).

Jellyfish Martini at FURA

What’s in it: Roku Gin, jellyfish, fish leaf, spirulina, dry vermouth, kombu oil

Price: $25++

This innovative take on a dry martini infuses Roku Gin with jellyfish and kombu, alongside a fish leaf native to Vietnam that imparts a flavour similar to that of oysters. The drink is finished with drops of roasted kombu oil for a uniquely savoury martini experience.

Gibson at Neon Pigeon

What’s in it: ROKU Gin, Tio Pepe sherry, amazu (pickled) shiso, pickled quail egg

Price: $26++

As if the subtle complexity of ROKU Gin and Tio Pepe sherry weren’t refreshing enough, this drink is brightened with amaze shiso and a pickled quail egg that adds a lovely umami undertone.

Lyc Me Peaches at Studio 1939 at Potato Head Singapore

What’s in it: Gin, oolong tea, lychee, nectarines

Price: $22++

This grown-up version of the lychee martini balances the sweetness of lychee with citrusy nectarines and herbaceous notes from oolong tea. A sophisticated twist on a fruity favourite.

Martini at Puffy Bois

What’s in it: Fords Gin, dry vermouth, Palo Cortado sherry, orange bitters

Price: $23++

A classic martini with a sweet spin and unique depth thanks to the addition of Palo Cortado sherry. We love that it’s served at -10°C, so every sip is crisp and cold.

Gemlik Martini at The Prince

What’s in it: Grey Goose vodka, olive, dry vermouth, tarragon, aloe vera

Price: $25

A Gibson Martini, but make it herbaceous. Tarragon and aloe vera give this rendition a fresh, summery vibe.
