Have High Blood Pressure? Don’t Eat These!
1. Salt and salty food
We all know that salt is bad news if you have hypertension. But most of us don’t consume the seasoning liberally on its own. What we do is we eat a lot of food with hidden salt, such as canned food and soups, frozen dinners and bottled sauces.
Your favourite cup of kopi can actually cause a rise in blood pressure so don’t over-indulge in caffeinated drinks.
3. Saturated and trans fat
We are looking at full-fat dairy products such as butter and cheese, chicken skin (double whammy if it’s deep-fried) and anything that uses hydrogenated oils to preserve its shelf life.
