If Suay Suay Another Pandemic Happens, Don’t Scared, We’ll Be Ready
Ahhh, the army medical centre. For NSMen, it reminds them of the countless safety briefings where you have to memorise the fastest route towards it or where your comrades go to if they're ill or injured. But starting today, one medical centre at Tengah Airbase has levelled up to combat the COVID-19 pandemic as well.
The Tengah Air Base Medical Centre is designed with features that allow the centre to support pandemic outbreak responses without compromising day-to-day operational functions.Posted by Ng Eng Hen on Wednesday, November 4, 2020
“This medical centre has pandemic-ready facilities, including isolation rooms with separate ventilation systems among other improvements,” said Defence Minister Ng Eng Hen in his latest Facebook post.
It is also a medical innovation testbed, and is currently trialling new technologies to improve the healthcare experience of our personnel.

Here are just a few examples of the pandemic-ready infrastructural and technological capabilities that will be available at the new RSAF Medical Centre:
• drive-through swab test driveways
• an outdoor swab booth
• an outward-facing dispensary for safe dispensing of medication to patients with respiratory infections, and more
There will also be isolation rooms with separate ventilation systems installed to prevent contaminated airflow from being routed to the rest of the facility.
We're pretty sure they could handle a zombie apocalypse, not just a pandemic, if need be. Go, Singapore!
