1. Chingay Parade


The annual Chingay Parade is back, albeit as a virtual event this year. Despite the absence of a live procession, Chingay 2021 promises to be a dazzling spectacle nonetheless. With over 2000 performers and 150 organisations from all walks of life, the virtual parade features a colourful blend of old and new cultural performances that shine the spotlight on our diverse local talent.

2. Huayi – Chinese Festival of Arts

Huayi, the Esplanade's annual Chinese festival of arts, returns with a thrilling line-up of theatre, dance and music programmes by both local and regional Chinese artists. This year, all programmes can be enjoyed both onsite and online, from lion dance performances to puppetry theatre productions, Hokkien opera classics and more.

3. The Amazing Celestial Race

Here's a fun way to celebrate CNY with your kids. Staged by Wild Rice, The Amazing Celestial Race (performed live at The Ngee Ann Kongsi Theatre @ Wild Rice, Funan) is a whimsical musical based on the legend of the zodiac race at the heart of the Chinese Zodiac.

4. Battle for Singapore 2021

Did you know that this year marks the 79th anniversary of the Fall of Singapore? Why not teach your kids about this historic event via Battle for Singapore 2021? Organised by the National Heritage Board, Battle for Singapore is a series of programmes where you can learn about the sequence of events leading up to the Fall of Singapore, as well as stories about places and events relating to the Japanese Occupation.
