Though we're entering Phase 2 of Safe Reopening today, we ought to stay vigilant about the continuing threat of COVID-19. In the same vein, there's another major threat you should be aware of during this period: Namely, the ongoing fake news "infodemic" plaguing our country.

Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in January, government agencies have clarified and debunked over 40 pieces of fake news about the outbreak, from speculation and rumours to scams and blatant falsehoods.

Which begs the question: Why do we like sharing fake news so much? And are we really as good at identifying fake news as we think we are?
