Flying The Flag For Strength And Unity With A Well-Loved NDP Song

What can you do with one mobile phone, one handheld Singapore flag, and one of our nation's most well-loved NDP songs?

Spurred not only by the strength and unity of the SG United spirit during this COVID-19 pandemic, but also the resilience of our people for the past 55 years, our team ventured into the heartlands - where we were heartened and inspired by the numerous national flags fluttering proudly along the pavements and on many an HDB balcony - to create this video celebrating Singapore's birthday in this new normal we're all living in.

Jeremy Monteiro's "One People, One Nation, One Singapore" is particularly poignant and meaningful this year, and, if our can-do attitude the past eight months of 2020 is anything to go by, then, indeed, "that's the way that we will be forevermore".

Happy National Day, Singapore. Stay safe.

Meaning of our flag

Red: stands for universal brotherhood and equality of man.

White: symbolises pervading and everlasting purity and virtue.

Crescent moon: represents a young nation on the ascendant.

Five stars: depict Singapore's ideals of democracy, peace, progress, justice and equality.
