Where To Shop, Eat And Play This Weekend (18-20 Oct)
This weekend is perfect for embarking on journeys, be it a final pilgrimage to the Merlion, into a world of bubble tea, or even “Over the Rainbow”. Interested yet? Here’s some destinations you can choose from.
1. Merlion’s Swan Song
It’s time to say goodbye to another piece of our childhood. As you may have heard, the iconic Sentosa Merlion is going to be demolished as part of Sentosa’s upcoming redevelopment. This weekend is your last chance to visit the Merlion before it shuts down for good, so hurry on down before it’s too late.
Until 20 October 2019
Sentosa Island, 30 Imbiah Road, Singapore 099958

2. The Bubble Tea Factory
As all true bubble tea lovers know, one does not simply drink bubble tea. Indeed, bubble tea is more than just a mere drink. It is an art, the essence of which one must fully embrace to become bubble tea.
Naturally, it’s this philosophy which inspired the creation of The Bubble Tea Factory, an immersive, multisensory journey into the heart of bubble tea. Pretend you’re swimming in boba or snap unique IG pics with spectacular bubble tea installations, including an IV drip of bubble tea for feeding your addiction. Of course, we can’t forget the most important part: Delicious boba treats galore!
19 October to 18 December 2019
The Bubble Tea Factory, *SCAPE, 2 Orchard Link, Singapore 237978

At this year’s Youths Celebrate! festival, watch Supertree Grove transform into an electrifying neon jungle all night long. Enjoy 14 IG-worthy neon installations, including 10-metre sculptures of the cactus, daisy and Venus fly trap. To spice things up further, LED stilt walkers will be roaming around the area, so be sure to keep an eye out for them.

5. Movie in the Gardens
Pack a picnic basket and get ready for a movie night with the family, because Botanic Gardens is screening The Wizard of Oz this weekend. Of course, it’s free seating on the lawn, so be sure to come early and snag a good spot. Worried about your kids bouncing around during the movie? There’ll be a StreetFunkFitness workout before the screening, which should help them burn off excess energy.
