Experience Joo Chiat without dodging traffic on 3 Oct, when the heritage neighbourhood turns into a giant playground for pedestrians and cyclists. But it's not only about walking down the street to check out the shops. There are activities like an Urban Sustainability Bike Tour, a Heritage Fitness Challenge, a Kueh Party, and live performances. SSO Babies’ Proms

Got a little toddler who thinks sitting still is a personal attack? The SSO Babies’ Proms may help you with that! Designed for families with children aged six and below, this relaxed concert experience lets little ones wiggle, move around and even leave the hall when needed. There are also pre-concert activities an hour before the show. Tickets are $35 to $45.

June Hahn Percussion Recital

Can you imagine hitting things for a living? Award-winning percussionist June Hahn is doing just that. She brings her impressive skills to the YST Concert Hall, playing everything – marimba, vibraphone, even electronic pads. The Sound Of Music

Speaking of musical theatre, the hills – and Capitol Theatre – will come alive with The Sound Of Music on 3 Oct. This fun-for-the-family movie is based on Maria Von Trapp's memoir, and tells the story of a novice nun who becomes the governess for Captain von Trapp's children in the days leading up to World War II. Starring Julie Andrews as Maria, this 1965 film won five Oscars, including Best Picture and Best Director, and the soundtrack was the best-selling album that year, beating this popular Brit band called The Beatles to the #1 slot.

Couple In Concert

Malaysia's power-pop outfit Couple returns to SG to share some good times and greatest hits. But that's not the only fun bit. You also get an S-tier line-up of guest bands too, including pioneering rockers Plainsunset, veteran punk purveyors Iman's League, and some of today's most fun bands including Swoon!, Blush and Teenage Venus.

The Last Whale Singer

Swap your usual movie night for something a little more cinematic: at The Last Whale Singer, screening as part of German Film Festival x KinoFest 2026. The animated film follows what happens when a monstrous creature escapes from a melting iceberg, and a self-doubting teenage humpback whale must face his greatest fears and dive into the darkest depths with his friends, to discover the mystical song that can save the oceans from destruction. It's in dual languages (German und English) that you can listen to on your earphones too, and the fact that this is an outdoor screening in a heritage space makes this a must-see.

Ryoji Ikeda: Ultratronics

Experimental Japanese artist Ryoji Ikeda brings his electronic sound and visual work to Singapore, so you can expect immersive digital visuals, intense electronic sounds and a whole lot of sensory stimulation. No, it's not your playlist – get ready for an audio-visual experience that makes your regular night out look low-key.

Aussie band FVNERAL will be stopping on our shores (before popping off to Japan) to headline what could be Singapore’s first-ever show with an all trans/nb/gnc lineup. Known for tracks like "25", "Rosie", and "Friendly Fire", they will be joined onstage (though not necessarily at the same time) by singer-songwriters RENE and Marian Carmel, and indie outfit Haldi Honey. Tickets: $38/$45.

A Universe In Sounds

This show invites kids aged 3 and up (and their grown-ups!) into the magical world of Pangu, where ripples, winds, stars and silence come alive through sound and gentle movement. Created by Tan Weiying and Gayle Nerva, this 30-minute experience lets little ones slow down, listen, move and their imaginations run wild. It’s free, but slots are limited and each child can bring one adult.
