Things To Do In Singapore: 26 June to 3 July
This week, we're taking a look at classic tunes and classical takes of pop tunes, heritage talks and heritage walks, with a couple of events that you never knew you needed in between. Whether it's going out with the gang or simply going solo, there's something for everyone this coming week.

Listen to heartwarming music with Pixar
Why this: One of the best things about Disney and Pixar’s animated classics is the music in those films. With Pixar In Concert, join the Orchestra of the Music Makers, who combine the memorable scores with cool HD visuals of unforgettable scenes from Toy Story, Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Up and more.

Let’s Explore: A Heritage Trail Around Temasek Shophouse
Why this: Do you know what or where Temasek Shophouse is? No? Well, now you can find out. This walking tour may be in one of Singapore’s most famous districts – the Orchard-Bras Basah area – but we bet you’ll learn quite a few things you never knew, as guides share personal stories about the spaces and people. This is a Culture Pass-eligible event.

Seeing what is UnSEEn
Why this: What happens when someone who always minds his own business gets thrust into someone else’s business? UnSEEn explores why we don’t notice the world around us and what it truly means to connect with someone else. This dance production, by the Singapore Cancer Society, features performances by 18 cancer survivors and patients

Indulge your interests at Hobbies Fair
Why this: Do you have hobbies? Or are you looking for one to try? This is where you want to be. From collectables to sports and more, explore new interests, or reconnect with old ones, and meet hobbyists who share the same passion as you.

It's feline fun at Asia Cat Expo 2026
Why this: Do you like cats? If your answer is yes, then you'll want to attend what fans are calling "the ultimate destination for cat lovers". Expect cat-themed products, cat competitions, cat exhibits (cats-hibits?), workshops and seminars (for the hoomans, not the cats). For cat lovers – say it with us – the time is meow! (PS: If you buy tickets for this, you can also enter the Hobbies Fair happening at the same time.)

Time to Roll With History
Why this: We all know what a popiah is, but how did it come about? Roll With History takes you on a journey at one of Singapore’s most iconic popiah institutions: Kway Guan Huat in Joo Chiat. You can learn about our food heritage and how the popiah was made – and get some to take home as well. You can also use your Culture Pass for this.

Step into the world of BAGFest 2026
Why this: Firstly, BAGFest isn’t about bags. It stands for Books And Games Fest, a first-of-its-kind hybrid festival that brings together Singapore’s literary arts and tabletop game communities. Expect a weekend filled with storytelling, books and zines, game demos, performances and more.

Savour a night with Sungha Jung
Why this: Ever since he exploded on YouTube when he was only 9yo, South Korean musician Sungha Jung has been mesmerising the world with his unique finger-style on the fretboard. This stop here is the last on his current Asian tour.

Find the write stuff After Hours
Why this: After Hours is Sing Lit Station’s monthly writing night for those who wish to express themselves with words. This month, acclaimed poet and author Chrystal Ho (Elsewhere, the Cosmos Cracks) will facilitate the proceedings, where you can meet other like-minded folks. All levels of experience are welcome, and snacks are provided. The event is free, but a door donation is appreciated.

Take part in Sacrilegious Games
Why this: OK, when we say “take part”, we really mean "sit back and enjoy" as TwoSet Violin’s collab with the SSO brings their Sacrilegious Games world tour to our shores. Like most TwoSet shows, you can expect the unexpected with Brett and Eddy, as they perform their favourite pieces. And yes, this is also Culture Pass eligible.

Journey through the Candlelight: History of Pop
Why this: No, it’s not a lecture; instead, it’s part of the popular Candlelight concert series. This time, the musicians will take you through the history of pop music, and you can expect to hear renditions of songs from Elvis to ABBA, from Beyoncé to The Weeknd.

Unwind with a Cheese & Wine night
Why this: It’s been a hard day’s week, and you’ve been working like a (insert favourite hardworking animal here). Now it’s time to kick back with free-flow cheese and wine in this weekly pairing session organised by The Cheese Shop. This is the first one for July. Good food, good wine, good times – what’s not to like?

Find out why Kumar Got Balls
Why this: Singapore’s Minister of Mirth, Kumar, returns for a new season of no-holds-barred look at life, love, and the Beautiful Game. Find out what “half-ball” means, and how come your partner remembers when CR7 was born but not your birthday? If you like things that are more extra than extra, you’ll like this show. You can use your Culture Pass for this. (Note: this is rated R-18.)

The Sci-fi Pop-up Library
Why this: Well, if you like sci-fi as we do, then why not? This latest library node at Parkway Parade is dedicated to all things sci-fi. You can browse more than 4,000 titles from authors like Isaac Asimov, Frank Herbert, Timothy Zahn, Vivian Teo and Judith Huang.
There’s also a mini exhibition where you can explore how sci-fi took off in Singapore, as well as a special StoryGen section where stories come alive via an “immersive visual experience”. Plus, it’s free. You just need your library membership ID.
